How does ADAS relate to my windshield?

The ADAS system usually includes a front facing camera that is mounted to the front windshield and when a windshield is replaced the camera must be removed and re-attached.

Due to the changes in placement when replacing the windshield, differences with the mount the camera rests in and differences of glass clarity, it will be critical to have the camera re-calibrated correctly.

Re-calibration

Windshield re-calibration is the process of adjusting the parameters of a camera lens to capture a complete image of the vehicle and road, guaranteeing that in-car ADAS systems receive accurate and reliable information. It is absolutely critical that the vehicle’s ADAS system is re-calibrated any time there is a change in any way to the windshield.

Two Types of Re-Calibration

Static re-calibration consists of setting up a vehicle-specific target board a precise distance from the vehicle and finding the center of the vehicle. The camera is then re-calibrated via the scan tool connected to the vehicle’s computer and the target board aligns the vehicle.

Dynamic re-calibration consists of hooking up a scan tool to the vehicle and going for a road test. The road test will then align the vehicle while the scan tool re-calibrates the camera.

I had my windshield replaced at Titan Auto glass. I made an appointment, got there on time, they were pulling my car back as we were driving away and it was done in an hour. They honored their quote, have a good warranty, and were super friendly. Great experience.

Was recommend by my dad who heard about this company on WBAP radio. Very kind, friendly and personable people! They had me in and out within the estimated time I was given for my appointment and got started on my windshield upon appointment time. The waiting room was very clean and tidy. I was able to watch tv and enjoy some cold water while I waited. They also had warm beverages like coffee available. This experience surpasses my experience at Safelite where it was way overpriced. I highly recommend this company and would absolutely come here again!

Huge shout out to Titan Auto Glass! I reached out to several windshield service companies in search of a windshield for a C5 corvette! Most couldn’t help and others were charging almost $1500.00 for the windshield. I called Titan Auto, I told them I found a windshield, they offered to pick it up for me and install within a couple of days! They went above and beyond! They arrived at the scheduled time, ensured I was 100% satisfied with their service. & best of all budget friendly! Moving forward I will only use Titan Auto Glass. You should too!

I went to the Plano location. They were fast, efficient, and got me in immediately. I stopped by for a quote, and left with my windshield fixed. Honestly am so glad I came across Titan Auto Glass. I was scheduled with Safelite but when they arrived, the tech realized he brought a windshield with a crack in it already. That bought me some time to find another repair shop, I did not want to reschedule with SL.
Titans quote was over $200 less than Safelite. I scheduled the mobile repair and had it replaced in my own driveway all within 24 hours. Would recommend Titan and Trevor to everyone I know.
